So we found out the pub was actually Bombay 79 yesterday. 79 because that's the latitude of the city that is not called Bombay anymore. Or so some people would have us believe.
Anyway, Deepak's a card carrying member of Submerge so it was only natural that he had been there since 5 pm, at which time I was perusing cat food shelves in Crawford Market. A few hours of traveling and phone calls later, with a lot of churn in the retinue. Ended up going: me, Pankaj, and his girl friend who is not to be called his girlfriend. Or so some people would have us believe.
The sponsor of the event, Tiger Beer, sent a selection of their worst to the event. And Vie had obliged them by not stocking anything but Tiger. I am completely off beer, only spirits. The girl friend tried two pints and had to pinch her nose to finish up. The waiters and barmen were equally horrible. Late service, it made me feel as if I was at a ration shop with no other customers in sight and still being made to wait. Horribly inefficient.
Post-Vie we thought of giving Enigma a shot but with just a few hours left to closing time we didn't want to splurge nothing eggs-tra.
Usual buffet at Marine Plaza, lots of desserts then we retired to a friend's place to mess around and fall asleep in the chairs.
